Types of sentence

A sentence is a unit of grammar. Typically, in writing, it begins with a capital letter and ends with a full stop.

Sentence structures

There are three types of sentence structures: simple, compound and complex.

Simple sentences

Simple sentences have only one main clause:

We’re going on holiday tomorrow. (one main clause)

I’m not keen on musicals.

Compound sentences

Compound sentences have two or more main clauses, joined by a coordinating conjunction:

I phoned her but she wasn’t there.

Are you coming or are you staying at home or will you go and see Mum?

Complex sentences

Complex sentences have a main clause and one or more subordinate clauses, introduced by a subordinating conjunction (The main clause is in bold; the subordinate clause is underlined.):

You can call me if you have any problems.

·         Grapevine is an informal channel of business communication network that can permeate an organization.

   The grapevine communication means passing of information, gossip, ideas, thoughts or rumor from person to many people:

Summary:

Grapevine communication is also known as informal communication. It exists in communication. Grapevine gives us opportunity to express our views and feelings. It is not written down or documented. This is too faster. It transmits all direction and levels. It gets meaning differently as it spreads. So that it has some rumor, elements as well truth. Employees like/ enjoy these types of communication because they can express their thoughts, ideas, views and feelings, but the senior officer attention to the grapevine communication because it could be give feedback or an early warning of trouble.  There is risk of getting signal or incorrect information. It is an expression of people’s anxieties and their natural curiosity to know what is going on around them. It plays vital role to operate the organization’s activities. The grapevine does not have any definite pattern or direction, though it is largely horizontal in nature. So that It is also difficult to find out the beginning and the end of the grapevine. There are four main types of grapevine communication like single stand chain, gossip chain, probability  chain or cluster chain.
